ISLAMABAD (AP) — A spokesman says a small fire briefly broke out on the first floor of the U.S. Embassy building in the Pakistani capital.

No one was hurt, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Embassy spokesman Rick Snelsire in Islamabad says the fire broke out at 1 p.m. Sunday near some electrical and air-conditioning equipment in the embassy's main building.

He says it is too soon to say what caused it, but that terrorism is not suspected.

Snelsire says there's a fair amount of smoke in the building following the fire.
