SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Authorities in Puerto Rico say a zip line operator has died after falling nearly 700 feet (213 meters) from a platform while helping a customer.
The island's secretary for youth and sports says officials are investigating the death of the unidentified woman who apparently was not wearing her safety equipment. Ramon Orta told reporters on Monday the zip line operation remains closed. He said the company operating the attraction had all the required government permits.
The death occurred Sunday at a popular tourist spot known as the Camuy caves in the island's northern region.
