A photograph of a grocery store employee walking a 72-year-old blind woman home on the icy sidewalks of the Canadian city of Halifax has gone viral.
The image of the good deed was taken by Terri Bordage Stevens and was posted on Facebook Friday. It has since racked up more than 12,000 likes and 5,000 shares.
"I was driving in Halifax by Sobeys Queen Street and made my friend slow down so I could snap this wonderful picture," Bordage Stevens wrote in the Facebook post, according to CBC. "Now that’s putting your customer first."
Austin MacNeill, the Sobeys employee in the photo, was helping Mary Cogswell, a legally blind customer. Cogswell told CBC that employees at the store have helped walk her home for five years, regardless of the season.
MacNeill, who has been working at Sobeys for six months, said, "everybody at the store likes to help people out.”
