Palestinian official says Gaza militant killed in Israeli airstrike in southern Gaza Strip

JERUSALEM (AP) — A Palestinian health official says a Gaza Strip militant was killed in an Israeli attack in southern Gaza.

The Israeli military says soldiers saw a group of men approach Israel's border fence with Gaza and launched an airstrike against them before dawn on Wednesday.

The military routinely fires on people who approach the border fence from Gaza because it suspects they have come to plant explosive devices that target Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Gaza health official Moaiya Hassanain says three other militants were wounded in the Israeli attack.
