NKorea says it deports American woman for making secret videos during humanitarian trips

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea says it has deported an American who frequently visited the North over 20 years for "plot-breeding and propaganda."

The short announcement late Wednesday by the North's state media gave her name as Suh Sandra. It wasn't clear if the name was in Korean style with the surname first.

The report gave few details but suggested that she had made unflattering secret videos during humanitarian trips "out of inveterate repugnancy" toward Pyongyang.

North Korea has occasionally detained foreigners for what it considered missionary work or "anti-state" activities.

Pyongyang says it decided to deport the American because of her "old age" and after she admitted that she'd "seriously insulted" its citizens' trust in leader Kim Jong Un.

A U.S. Embassy official in Seoul didn't immediately have details.
