Mexico truck-bus crash kills at least 30
VERACRUZ, Mexico – State authorities say a truck trailer came loose and hit a passenger bus, killing at least 30 people and injuring 20 in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.
A government statement says the accident occurred on a winding stretch of highway near the town of Alamo in the northern part of the state.
The bus from the Butron line was headed early Friday morning from Coatzacoalcos in Veracruz to the border state of Coahuila.
Veracruz Gov. Javier Duarte is offering help to the victims and sent an official to the scene to coordinate rescue and relief efforts.
State authorities gave no information about the truck driver or what the truck was hauling.
