LATISM And Google Team Up For Latino Startups

The nonprofit Latinos in Social Media, better known as LATISM, has partnered up with Google to sponsor a Hispanic-specific technology startup conference next week.

“In today’s digital economy, Latinos must move from simply being consumers to leaders in the technology field,” LATISM founder Ana Roca Castro said in a statement. “We thank Google for hosting the conference again this year and for helping us build a more inclusive ecosystem.”

Workshops will be held all throughout the day, and participants will have the opportunity to to receive business advice from marketing and technology experts, as well as from Hispanic startups that have already broken the barrier. Startup investors will also talk about what they expect from companies that are trying to enter the industry.

“Google is proud to support LATISM in this event,” Mary Grove, Director of Global Entrepreneurship Outreach at Google said in a press release. “Our mission with Google for Entrepreneurs is to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship around the world and we believe in supporting organizations who empower founders with technology and training.”
