Amnesty International says five Mexican marines have been arrested in relation to the 2013 disappearance of a man in northern Mexico.

An Amnesty statement Thursday says the five are to be charged in the case of Armando del Bosque Villarreal, who went missing in Nuevo Leon state.

Mexico's navy has not responded to verbal and written requests for comment.

Amnesty says Mexican marines stopped the 33-year-old Del Bosque in his car in the town of Colombia in August 2013. It says that when Del Bosque's father went to the local marine base to inquire, he was told his son was being interrogated. An hour later officials denied he had been there.

Del Bosque's body was found with bullet wounds in October 2013 about a mile (2 kilometers) from the base.
