A teacher wounded in the deadly shooting rampage at Los Angeles International Airport says he crawled for his life and used a sweatshirt as a tourniquet in the moments after the attack began.

Brian Ludmer spoke Tuesday from a hospital bed. A bullet hit his calf and shattered a bone. Doctors say he'll recover.

The 29-year-old Ludmer was heading to Chicago for a friend's wedding and was at a security checkpoint when shots erupted downstairs.

Ludmer says he was hit and collapsed against a wall then scrambled into a storage room, where he found the sweatshirt.

Ludmer says he was afraid he would bleed to death or the gunman would finish him off. Police rescued him.

Ludmer says he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He calls the gunman sick and delusional.
