San Bernardino County authorities say a woman arrested on suspicion of trying to steal a train told deputies she wanted to take a joy ride.

The Daily Press reports deputies were called to the Victor Valley Transportation Center early Sunday after several residents reported the sound of an incessant train horn.

Deputies found Shawna Lee Marone in the cab of a running BNSF train. The 44-year-old Victorville resident refused orders to get out. Authorities say when Marone was finally arrested she admitted trying to steal the train.

Officials didn't say if she started the locomotive. The newspaper says Marone could face charges. It wasn't immediately known if she has an attorney.
