A 19-year-old Home Depot employee is being credited with saving a baby girl who fell out of a shopping cart inside an Anchorage store.
The Anchorage Daily News reports that Christopher Strickland, who recently graduated from high school and is a lot loader at the location, noticed the baby loose in a car seat atop one of the store's famous orange shopping carts. He told the paper he decided to keep an eye on the baby "in case something happened."
His intuition proved right and the baby tipped over and fell out of the seat. But the video shows Strickland’s fast reaction and caught the baby with both arms. He has since done national interviews and is in line to receive the store’s Angel Award, which is given for exceptional acts of heroism.
