SALT LAKE CITY – A Utah park ranger who was shot and critically wounded Nov. 19 near Moab is recovering at home.
The Deseret News reports 34-year-old Brody Young was able to spend Christmas with his family after spending weeks recovering in a Colorado hospital. Family and friends say Young doesn't remember much from the shooting.
Prosecutors have filed first-degree felony attempted murder and other charges against 40-year-old Lance Leroy Arellano (ar-ee-AH'-no).
Authorities are offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Young was hit during a shootout with the suspect while conducting a routine parking lot check at the Poison Spider Mesa Trailhead.
Authorities believe Arellano was shot in the leg during the shootout.
