Jurors at the U.S. trial of the notorious Mexican drug lord known as "El Chapo" are seeing evidence he knew how to live it up even while his life was in danger.

Prosecutors introduced photos Friday of an armed Joaquin Guzman dancing with an unidentified woman. They were used during testimony about the violent drug wars in Mexico at the height of Guzman's power.

One shows that aside from having some fun, Guzman was carrying a diamond-encrusted pistol to protect himself.

Guzman is facing conspiracy charges at the ongoing trial in federal court in Brooklyn.

He was sent to the U.S. to face trial in 2017 after making a fortune running the Sinaloa cartel and breaking out of Mexican jails two times.
