Uncle charged with murder of Kentucky teenager who disappeared in 1999 from her driveway

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. – A grand jury in Kentucky has charged the uncle of a girl who disappeared from her driveway in 1999 with murder.

Bullitt County Sheriff Dave Greenwell said Wednesday he feels confident the charge against Stanley Dishon will lead to a resolution of the case.

Jessica Dishon was 17 when she was last seen on Sept. 10, 1999. Her beaten and strangled body was found 17 days later several miles from home.

The trial of a Bullitt County man in 2002 ended in a mistrial.

The case received new attention recently with officials receiving several tips in the past five to six months.
