Two New Jersey teens killed in car accident hours after high school prom

A tragic New Jersey car accident killed two teenage girls and left two others injured early Saturday morning, hours after their high school prom.

Daisia Sulton, 17, was driving on State Highway 49 in Morris River Township at about 3:45 a.m. when her car veered off the road and hit a tree, immediately killing her. Another girl, Mikayla Mosley, 15, was rushed to a local hospital, where she also died, state police said.

The two other girls in the car, whom cops would not name, were in stable condition early Sunday morning. The Press of Atlantic City identified them as Zyiah Stocks, 16, and Jada Barriento, 17.

The girls were students at Bridgeton High School, according to social media posts.

Cops did not know what caused Sulton’s car to veer off the road. No other cars were involved in the accident.

Thomasina Jones, Bridgeton’s school superintendent, told the Press of Atlantic City that the girls are in the 10th and 11th grades.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, and certainly we are praying for the two students who are in the hospital right now. We want them to pull through and recover from the crash,” she told the paper.
