TUCSON, Ariz. – Authorities have arrested a Tucson middle school wrestling coach after a former student accused him of sending inappropriate text messages.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that detectives have been investigating Ricardo Lee Moreno since early February when they were informed of the accusation.
The 62-year-old Moreno is an assistant wrestling coach at Altar Valley Middle School.
Authorities say evidence found in Moreno's home led officials to arrest him on suspicion of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
Sheriff's officials say the 15-year-old victim reported the inappropriate texts to the school's head wrestling coach, who then told the principal and the San Xavier School District.
Moreno is being held in the Pima County Adult Detention Center. It was unclear Thursday whether Moreno has legal representation yet.
