WARM SPRINGS, Ore. – Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs members say their entire reservation is grieving the deaths of a child and three young adults in a crash following a police chase.
KTVZ-TV in Bend reported the three adults have been identified as 26-year-old April Scott-Kalama, 25-year-old Valerie Suppah and 22-year-old Sean Starr, all of whom lived on the reservation.
The name of a 5-year-old girl who died in the Wednesday night crash was not available. A 2-year-old boy survived and was in critical condition. The victims' relationships weren't clear.
All four died when their car crashed into an oncoming police car during a short chase that also left a police officer seriously injured.
Tribal elder Roma David said the reservation is in shock and called the deaths "needless."
