BATH, Maine – The Maine man who was behind the wheel of the Jeep involved in a fatal Halloween-themed hayride crash two years ago in Mechanic Falls is set to go on trial in Bath.
The Kennebec Journal reports (http://bit.ly/2djkEYj ) the trial of David Brown on reckless conduct charges will begin Thursday morning in Sagadahoc County Superior Court.
A grand jury also indicted Harvest Hill Farms, where the accident occurred, and a mechanic in the case. All have pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say the accident occurred in October 2014 when Brown lost control of the Jeep, struck a tree and the vehicle overturned.
Twenty-two passengers were hospitalized following the crash. Seventeen-year-old Cassidy Charette was fatally injured.
A deputy district attorney declined to comment Wednesday.
