The trial of an Ohio sex offender charged with killing three women whose bodies were found wrapped in garbage bags is scheduled to begin.

Michael Madison could face the death penalty if convicted on aggravated murder charges in the women's deaths. Their bodies were found in 2013 near the East Cleveland apartment building where he lived.

Jury selection is set to begin Monday and is expected to take at least a week. Prosecutors say they're preparing to question around 50 witnesses. Madison's lead attorney says if Madison is convicted, the defense team will be working to save his life.

On Tuesday, attorneys will present arguments in state Supreme Court on why Anthony Sowell shouldn't be put to death for killing 11 women in Cleveland. He was convicted in 2011.
