State police say a tour bus has crashed on Interstate 390 in western New York's Steuben County, injuring at least 12 people and shutting down the highway.

The crash happened Sunday night about 55 miles southeast of Rochester. A spokeswoman at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester says three patients were brought there by helicopter and one by ambulance. A spokesman at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Danville says eight were brought there.

Neither state police nor the sheriff's office would give details on the crash.

In January 2005, a bus chartered by a Canadian women's youth hockey team rammed a parked tractor-trailer along I-390 near Geneseo, killing four people. Investigators determined the driver's lack of sleep and inexperience led to the crash, but a grand jury declined to indict him.
