A threat forced the evacuation of a building at Amazon's Seattle headquarters on Monday, but a police search did not turn up any bombs or suspicious devices.

Seattle police Det. Patrick Michaud told FoxNews.com that the threat was received around 10:30 a.m. against the building on the Amazon campus in the city's South Lake Union neighborhood. But although police were still on the scene as of 1:30 p.m., authorities were not preventing anyone from re-entering the building, Michaud said.

Michaud did not know the nature of the threat, reported to be a bomb scare by some media outlets, and said there were no suspects or leads. A message on the Seattle Police Department's website said a threatening note was found inside a bathroom in the complex.

"It doesn't appear as if it was that serious a threat to start," he said.

No one was injured in the evacuation, he added.

An unidentified employee told Komonews.com that he saw Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos evacuating the building as well.

Explosive detection dogs and the police department's bomb squad were participating in the investigation.

There was no immediate mention of the incident on Amazon.com's press website, and phone calls placed by Reuters to the company were not immediately returned.
