Illinois authorities are searching for the burglars who brazenly drove a stolen minivan through a Northbrook mall Tuesday night, crashed it into a Louis Vuitton store and made off with $120,000 in merchandise.

ABC 7 Chicago reported that the thieves took display items and ran from the store, leaving the minivan behind. Two months earlier, a Louis Vuitton store in Oakbrook, another Illinois suburb, had a similar smash-and-run burglary and police are looking into a possible connection.

Northbrook Police said on Tuesday the thieves drove through the doors of a shopping mall and up to the Louis Vuitton store where they got out and started pulling bags. Louis Vuitton bags can be priced well above $2,000 each.

"They were there for about a minute, according to the cleaning crew. It did look like they removed a lot of, a large portion of merchandise on display," Daniel Petka, a police spokesman, told CBS Chicago.

Police have not named any suspects.
