Court documents accuse a man who was drinking alcohol with the uncle of a 1-year-old Indiana girl of abducting, raping and killing her after family members had fallen asleep in the home.

Owen County prosecutors filed murder and other charges Monday against 22-year-old Kyle Parker of Spencer in Shaylyn (SHAY'-lynn) Ammerman's death.

Charging documents say investigators questioned Parker after Shaylyn was reported missing Wednesday morning from the Spencer home where her father, uncle and grandmother lived. The documents say Parker first denied involvement, but later directed police to the wooded location where her body was found Thursday night.

An autopsy found Shaylyn suffered severe sexual trauma and died from asphyxiation.

Court records did not list a defense attorney for Parker ahead of his initial hearing Monday afternoon.
