SAN ANTONIO – South San Antonio school police have arrested an employee who they say brought brass knuckles and a methamphetamine pipe onto school property.
KENS-TV reports South San Antonio Independent School District officers arrested Jake Contreras on Wednesday after receiving a tip the day before. He is charged with possession of a weapon in a prohibited place and possession of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
Police say he resigned immediately from his job as a paraprofessional redirection aide.
Contreras was questioned at Frank Madla Elementary school and officers searched his backpack. They say they found a set of brass knuckles and a pipe that tested positive for traces of meth.
Contreras was released from the Bexar County Jail on $30,000 bond. Online jail records didn't list an attorney.
