Officials at Atlanta's airport — the world's busiest — say authorities have evacuated public areas of the domestic terminal while police investigate a suspicious package.

The airport said in a statement Wednesday morning on its official Twitter account that the evacuation is being done "out of an abundance of caution."

Airport officials and police could not immediately be reached by phone.

The evacuation comes one day after attacks at an airport and subway system in Brussels, Belgium, killed at least 34 people, including three suicide bombers, and injured 270 others.
