NEW ORLEANS – A change-of-plea hearing is set in New Orleans for three people indicted in a wide-ranging gang-related indictment — including two brothers implicated in a 2013 shooting spree that left 20 people injured during a Mother's Day parade.
That shooting is one element of the federal case, which also alleges drug dealing, weapons violations and deadly violence. Online court records show that Shawn and Akein (ah-KEEN') Scott are set for Wednesday afternoon's hearing before U.S. District Judge Ivan Lemelle. A third suspect in the overall gang case, Stanley Scott, also is to take part.
All three had earlier entered not-guilty pleas in the case.
