A suspect in the August heist of an ATM-servicing business in St. Louis is on the loose after escaping from an eastern Missouri jail.

Authorities say John Wesley Jones and another federal inmate escaped before dawn Monday from the Lincoln County Jail. That's where 36-year-old Jones was being held on a federal weapons-possession charge.

A manhunt is under way.

The other escapee is identified as Corey Cross, who also is facing federal charges that he illegally possessed a firearm.

Jones is the only named suspect in the August holdup of ATM Solutions in St. Louis that netted four bandits potentially millions of dollars. Jones has not been charged in the holdup.
