A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by survivors of a Pennsylvania woman who died nearly two years ago during a weekend jail stint over school truancy fines.

The Reading Eagle (http://bit.ly/21MnVjD ) reports that a March 7 federal court affidavit confirms the sealed settlement and distribution to heirs of 55-year-old Eileen DiNino of Reading.

The mother of seven was found unresponsive in June 2014 in Berks County prison, where she was confined for failure to pay $2,000. An autopsy concluded that she died of natural causes, including high blood pressure that contributed to heart failure. No charges were filed.

The county was dismissed from the lawsuit last fall, and the firm providing prison care agreed to a settlement in January. Attorneys couldn't be reached or declined comment.
