A Los Angeles-area park has been closed after coyotes attacked three people.

The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/2bdS7VH ) says Grant Rea Park in suburban Montebello was closed Monday night until state wildlife officials determine that it's safe. The park's petting zoo also closed.

Authorities say the unprovoked attacks began on July 22 when a teenage girl was bitten on the leg.

A man working on his car in a driveway a block from the park was also bitten on the leg Saturday night, and a homeless man rummaging through park trash bags suffered 19 puncture wounds to his leg in a pre-dawn attack Sunday.

The men were given precautionary rabies treatment.

Wildlife officials have shot four coyotes at the park and plan to kill others. They'll be tested for rabies.
