Stepfather of murdered Phoenix teen seeks info
PHOENIX – The stepfather of a Phoenix teenager fatally shot while on a morning jog in early November is asking for help in finding the killer.
Isaac Espinoza held a news conference Tuesday on a street near where 13-year-old Jonathan Garcia-Valladares was killed Nov. 7 after leaving his home to go for a run.
No witnesses or suspects have been found, and police believe the slaying was a random act. They say Jonathan had no known enemies and wasn't involved in anything illegal.
Espinoza says with Christmas coming, things have gotten tough for his family. All they want this year is information about their son's killer.
Espinoza is asking that anyone with information on the murder call local law enforcement's anonymous tip hot line.
The Arizona Republic says a reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information on Garcia-Valladares' death.
