Survivors of a 2003 nightclub fire and friends and relatives of the 100 who died are gathering at the Warwick, Rhode Island, City Hall to mark the 12th anniversary of the deadly blaze.

Fire broke out at The Station Nightclub in West Warwick on Feb. 20, 2003, after pyrotechnics for the band Great White set fire to flammable foam inside.

Members of The Station Fire Memorial Foundation plan to discuss the construction and fundraising efforts for a permanent memorial at the site of the fire. Construction is expected to start this spring and finish in 2016.

A ceremony that had been planned for Feb. 15 was canceled because of blizzard conditions.
