FORT OSAGE, Mo. – Authorities have been searching a farm near Kansas City for remains that might be linked to the disappearance of a girl in 2002.
Kathryn Sholly Seefeldt was 12 when she was last seen on Oct. 12, 2002, as she left her Jackson County home near Independence. She would be 22 today.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Sharp told The Kansas City Star that searches have been conducted for about the last three weeks on private property in the northeast part of the county.
Crew members with the Fort Osage Fire Protection District conducted a controlled burn to aid in the search this past weekend.
Sharp said new leads led them to the farmstead.
