Singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will perform at a dedication ceremony for the 9/11 memorial for Flight 93 in western Pennsylvania.

The National Park Foundation announced Monday the pop vocalist will sing at the Sept. 10 event near Shanksville, where the 40 passengers and crew aboard United Flight 93 died Sept. 11, 2001. The plane crashed in a field after it's believed the passengers tried to overtake the hijackers.

The Flight 93 National Memorial dedication will include dignitaries and the relatives of those killed in the attack.

Organizers have raised most of the estimated $60 million needed for the first phase of the design. The memorial will include a "Tower of Voices" housing 40 wind chimes.

McLachlan has won Grammy Awards for her songs "Building a Mystery" and "I Will Remember You."
