A San Francisco woman has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge accusing her of killing and dismembering her roommate, whose body prosecutors say was discovered in plastic bags at their home.

The San Francisco Chronicle says 47-year-old Lisa Gonzales entered the plea during a brief court appearance on Thursday. Prosecutor Adam Maldonado said the city medical examiner is expected to have a full report on the victim in the next two to three weeks.

Prosecutors have said Gonzales told police that she and her roommate argued on May 15 after her roommate refused to move out, but she didn't recall what happened next.

Police who went to the home roughly two weeks later discovered 61-year-old Maggie Mamer's severed arms and legs in a maggot-filled storage container.
