HATFIELD, Pa. – A rare disorder isn't stopping a Pennsylvania boy from living his best life.
Kim Clemens tells The Intelligencer (http://bit.ly/2pFTH6w ) her 5-year-old son, Sudan, can run and play sports thanks to physical therapy, a special prosthetic and a great attitude.
Sudan suffers from proximal femoral focal deficiency. The disease left his right leg deformed, and doctors said he wouldn't be able to enjoy most physical activities that children love.
Clemens, a registered nurse, says he proved them wrong.
She became his foster mother in 2013, and later adopted him and his two younger siblings.
She says Sudan will need surgery and lifelong therapy but isn't going to give up.
