Prominent U.S. lawyer Alan Dershowitz said earlier Tuesday that papers have been served on a woman who claims he and Prince Andrew sexually abused her.
U.S. district court Judge Kenneth Marra ordered Virginia Roberts’ accusations against Dershowitz and Prince Andrew to be removed from the record and denied her attempt to join a lawsuit against wealthy financier Jeffrey Epstein, a friend of the prince and a convicted sex offender.

Dershowitz told The Algemeiner that he saw the ruling as “a complete vindication of my position.” He also said that steps are now being taken against the accuser and her legal team.
Roberts “is trying to avoid being served” Dershowitz told The Algemeiner, but “we served her and she will have to be deposed… if she repeats what she says under oath, she will go to prison.” He also said that the lawyers representing Roberts were sanctioned “for filing these false allegations” and that they may face legal proceedings as well.
“The tragedy is that some people still seem to believe this false charge. If anybody still believes it then I have been harmed.”
Dershowitz, a former Harvard law professor, told the paper that he would now be able to fully devote himself to advocating for Jewish values and Israel.
“It has been a distraction,” Dershowitz admitted to the paper.
