YONKERS, N.Y. – Police say a pregnant Yonkers woman who was shot in the stomach has successfully delivered her baby and is in stable condition.
WABC-TV reports the woman delivered her baby by emergency cesarean section and was recovering Friday at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx.
The victim's baby is also in stable condition.
Cops are still searching for the gunman who shot the woman inside the vestibule of her apartment building Thursday night. She was nine months pregnant.
The woman was carrying a laundry bag as she walked through a set of doors in the building. The suspect was standing near the intercom.
Police said a nearby surveillance camera captured most of the incident.
