A pregnant 15-year-old girl who was shot after opening the door of her western Pennsylvania home and lost her unborn son is expected to survive.

Police say DaRae Delgado was shot early Monday by someone who knocked on the family's door in Duquesne, covered the peephole and then opened fire when she answered.

The girl was about seven months pregnant. Her twin brother says she opened the door and he saw the "gunshots go off."

Her mother, Deanna Weams, says doctors told her the fetus apparently bore the brunt of the gunfire. She said her daughter remained hospitalized Tuesday.

Allegheny County police haven't identified any suspects or made any arrests.
