Montgomery police say a woman has been charged with attempted kidnapping after they say she tried to see the Faulkner University president and another school employee in a campus administrative building.

Police tell The Montgomery Advertiser the woman was armed with a knife when she showed up at the administrative building Wednesday. Police Sgt. Regina Duckett said investigators learned the woman, a former student, intended to kidnap the two school officials.

Police say 24-year-old Camille Langley is charged with first-degree attempted kidnapping. It wasn't known early Friday whether Langley has an attorney.

Police say they've determined a motive but declined to reveal it.

Duckett said Langley's most recent residence was in New York City.

Faulkner spokeswoman Leigh Brannon said she couldn't provide details on Langley's status at the school.
