GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Police in Colorado say a man wanted in connection with a Utah slaying led authorities on two wrong-way chases and briefly kidnapped a woman after breaking in to her home to change his clothes and steal her car.
Police are still piecing together the string of crimes but believe 34-year-old James Main Jr. also tried to carry out several carjackings and stole a bicycle after crashing a vehicle.
He was arrested in Grand Junction on Sunday, about 24 hours after authorities got word he might be in the area. Main is being held in the death of a 56-year-old man and the kidnapping of two others about 170 miles away in Duschene (Doo'-shane) County, Utah.
It's not known if he has a lawyer or why he ended up in Colorado.
