Authorities in Ohio were searching for a suspect after reports of shots fired Monday night on the University of Cincinnati.

The university sent out a text message that said, "Shots fired on campus. Susp MB, 5'10 gray shorts last seen running toward baseball field. All on campus shelter in place," Fox 19 reported.  At least an hour later, the campus’ shelter in place request was lifted.

According to Fox 19, the shooting happened on the east side of the campus near Dabney Hall. Public Safety Director James Whalen said that two people were talking when one person pulled out a weapon and fired it and then took off.

Authorities were searching for a black male, wearing gray clothing, who is about 5-feet 10 inches.

No one was injured in the incident.
