NEW ORLEANS – A man and a 7-month-old boy have been fatally shot on a New Orleans bridge.
The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/17rhWVC ) that New Orleans police spokesman Officer Frank B. Robertson III says the shooting was an apparent ambush that occurred while the man was driving Wednesday night on the Crescent City Connection bridge.
The unidentified man was shot to death inside a black Honda just past the toll plaza area on the West Bank entrance to the bridge.
The boy was also in the car and was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police did not immediately return a call to The Associated Press late Wednesday.
The newspaper reports that no suspects have been named in the shooting, and the motive is not clear.
