Police in Long Island, N.Y. were investigating Jell-O tampering at several supermarkets Saturday after packages were purchased, emptied of their contents, repackaged with another substance and returned to stores.
On Wednesday and Thursday, Suffolk County police discovered tampered packages of Jell-O brand pudding mix. Nassau County police are also investigating an incident at a Stop and Shop in Woodbury.
Investigators pulled all of the product off of the shelves. Preliminary lab tests indicated that the substance was harmless.
