Authorities say the father of an Arkansas boy who went missing last year has been arrested on suspicion of capital murder and abuse of a corpse.

Searcy police said Wednesday they'd arrested 43-year-old Jeffery Clifton. His son, Malik Drummond, was 2 when he disappeared.

Sgt. Steve Hernandez says he couldn't release details, including whether police had found the boy's body.

Clifton's girlfriend told police the toddler wandered away from their home the evening of Nov. 23, 2014, while Clifton was sleeping. Dozens of volunteers spent weeks scouring the neighborhood about 50 miles northeast of Little Rock.

The FBI offered a $20,000 reward last month.

It's unclear whether Clifton has an attorney. Last month, Clifton said he was still searching for his son, "looking at cars that pass, in parks."
