Police say they fatally shot a man after he fired at an officer during a domestic dispute in Jacksonville.

The shooting happened Sunday after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter around the home following a 911 call.

Chief Tom Hackney says the man fired a rifle at an officer at the back of the property, barely missing his head.

The Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1NEqBw6 ) reports the man ran to the front of the property and raised his rifle. Police shot at him but missed.

Hackney says the man taunted police, yelling "you missed me." Officers fired again and hit him.

The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

The race of those involved in the shooting wasn't immediately available.

The man's wife and children were not injured.
