A Pennsylvania man was arrested when he reportedly admitted to police that he created a gasoline explosion to set his house on fire after he got into an argument with his wife.
A Northern York County Regional Police report says 57-year-old Loye Lynn Ray poured gasoline over furniture in his basement before setting it ablaze. A partially full container of gasoline was found by authorities in the home's first floor hallway.
Neighbors told police that Ray quickly fled the scene after an explosion from the fumes blew out windows from the residence. Ray drove towards Harrisburg but turned around and returned to his home, where he was then questioned by officials.
Police said no one was in the house during the time of the fire and there were no injuries from the explosion. Ray is facing charges of arson and causing or risking catastrophe.
