Partial bridge collapse kills child, injures mother in Texas

A child is dead and the child's mother is injured after part of a bridge collapsed on Highway 90 in Sealy, Texas Thursday morning.

A roll-off truck traveling southbound crashed into the overpass causing the subsequent collapse.

Part of the bridge fell onto a car traveling northbound underneath the overpass.

One boy was able to be rescued from the back of the car and appears to be uninjured.

A child in the front passenger seat died at the scene.

The mother, who was driving, was taken by LifeFlight to a Houston hospital.

Texas Department of Transportation along with Sealy Police and DPS are investigating the incident.
