Hundreds join search for missing college student

21-year-old Shane Montgomery went missing Wednesday

The desperate parents of a college student missing since early Thanksgiving Day have posted a $10,000 reward for information that leads to his safe return.

Shane Montgomery, a 21-year-old West Chester University student, hasn’t been seen since he was kicked out of a popular Philadelphia bar around 2 a.m. Thursday after a night of drinking.

"Someone had to see Shane and we need someone to come forward and let us know what's going on," Montgomery's uncle Kevin Verbrugghe told "Fox & Friends" Sunday.

Shane's mother, Karen Montgomery, is praying for answers.

“He’s our son and I won’t ever stop looking for Shane ever,” she told Philadelphia’s Fox 29 News Saturday.

Montgomery and her husband Kevin attended a candlelight vigil Saturday evening across the street from the Kildare’s Irish Pub in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. Shane had gone to Kildare’s with a cousin and friends late Wednesday.

“I want to tell Shane that no matter what we love him,” Karen Montgomery said. “If he can find his way to a phone, to a police station, he needs to find someone who can help him get help.”

A Philadelphia police marine unit searched the Manayunk Canal Saturday. The marine unit plans to expand their search of the canal Sunday morning.

The parents told the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia that Shane was asked to leave Kildare’s after bumping into the DJ’s table. Sources told the station there was a fight outside the pub. His cell phone pinged a cell tower 30 minutes after he left the bar.

“When we got down here there were 300 some people down here to search. So what keeps you going? That’s what keeps you going,” Kevin Montgomery told NBC.

Shane, who is from Roxbourough, is 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 145 pounds, with light brown hair and has a Celtic cross tattoo on his shoulder.
