A central Pennsylvania man is getting six years of probation but no jail time after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the Christmas Eve shooting death of his 2-month-old daughter.

The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reports (http://bit.ly/1dVg22U ) that 36-year-old Scott Davis told the judge Friday he loved his daughter Kestyn and he replays the event in his mind daily. He says faith, family and friends have helped him cope with the tragedy.

The paper says Judge Dennis Reinaker told Davis he's certain the shooting will haunt him for the rest of his life.

Authorities say Davis was playing with a newly purchased 9 mm handgun in a home near Lancaster when it discharged and hit the girl in a swing across the room. He'd faced up to 15 years.
