CHICAGO – One teenage student was killed and another seriously wounded after a stabbing in a Chicago school Thursday morning.
The two teens were stabbed at around 7:30am local time at an alternative school on the city's south side, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Their alleged attacker, also a student at the school, has been arrested, authorities told the paper.
None of the students' names have been released.
The two wounded teens were transported from AMIKids Infinity Chicago to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where one of the students later died, the Cook County medical examiner's office told the paper.
AMIKids Infinity Chicago is an alternative school that instructs students between the ages of 14 and 18, and provides "services for kids that have been expelled or (have been) long-term suspended from CPS (Chicago Public Schools)," Sherri Ulleg, a spokeswoman for Tampa, Fla.-based AMIKids Inc told the Tribune.
